Protecting your privacy shouldn’t take an expert.
Your phone, your apps, and the accounts you sign into hand over far more than you’d guess — and the settings that would rein it in are buried, off by default, or written in jargon. We’re a student club at Pitt, and we work to close the gap between what gets collected about you and what you can see and control.
What we do
Teach the basics. Workshops and plain-language guides, so protecting yourself doesn’t take a background in security.
Investigate. Original, sourced research into what actually watches you — campus cameras, banks, data brokers, and the rules behind them.
Publish resources. Vetted tools, step-by-step guides, and account-deletion help — all free, all open.
Push back. Explainer panels, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know requests, and op-eds on the surveillance you can’t opt out of.

No sponsors, no affiliate links, no outside money.
Every claim traces to a primary source — or it’s marked and dated.
Issues, not candidates. We make the case; the voting’s yours.

Being a member
Meetings are where the work gets planned — every two weeks, open to any Pitt student. Sit in with no commitment, or pick something up: help research an investigation, draft a guide, or staff the table at the involvement fair.
