You shouldn't have to know someone, catch us at the involvement fair, or already be on an email list to find out when a club meets. So here it is, in the open.

Just walk in. No RSVP, no application, and you don't have to join anything to sit in on a meeting. Come once and see what it's about.

Browsers and search engines
Search first: what Google pays to be your default, whether your searches can be used as evidence, whose index each engine actually uses, and how to switch and clear what Google already kept. Then the browser: the EFF’s Cover Your Tracks test before and after, fingerprinting, which browsers let a tracker’s cookie follow you from site to site, and the settings to change in the one you already use.
Plate readers — what Pitt’s rules leave out
In a statement SGB released September 14, Pitt Police said it has no contract with Flock. The slides cover what that leaves out: the other plate readers DeFlock maps around the Union and the Cathedral, where Motorola’s plate data can go, and what Pitt’s 2019 camera policy never mentions. Then our ask — a written policy for every plate reader and face-recognition tool Pitt runs, buys data from, or shares footage with — and four ways to help.
Phone privacy — the settings worth changing
Six settings, changed on your own phone in the room: the advertising ID, per-app and precise location, location history, diagnostic reporting, the hardware address campus Wi-Fi sees, and saved Wi-Fi networks. Two apps for checking what yours can already see: Loupe on iPhone, TrackerControl on Android.
